Speaker Bio

Dr. Paul Isely is the Associate Dean and a Professor of Economics at Grand Valley State University’s Seidman College of Business. With a Ph.D. and M.S. in Economics from Purdue University, and a dual B.S. in Physics and Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he has been a prominent academic and economic voice in West Michigan since 1995. Over his career, he has taught more than 4,000 students, published over 50 articles and reports, and delivered hundreds of presentations focused on the regional economy. Dr. Isely also leads GVSU’s economic forecast team and is a frequent media contributor, with appearances in outlets ranging from NPR to The Wall Street Journal.
