Welcome to C3, Ryan Lubbers!
We’re excited to welcome Ryan Lubbers to C3 Technology Advisors as our newest IT Operations Specialist.
Ryan joins C3 with nearly 15 years of IT experience. His career began on the help desk before progressing into security and eventually IT management, giving him firsthand experience with many of the challenges IT teams encounter at every level of an organization. Ryan earned his Bachelor of Science in Information Security from Davenport University.
Most recently, he spent nearly seven years as the IT Operations Manager at Rockford Construction, where he and his team supported approximately 360 employees. In that role, Ryan oversaw a wide range of IT responsibilities, including help desk operations, security, infrastructure, technology purchasing, budgeting, and vendor management. He also helped lead the rollout and modernization of several technologies across the organization.
That experience has shaped Ryan into what he describes as an IT generalist. Rather than focusing on one narrow area, he enjoys learning new technologies, understanding how they fit into the larger environment, and figuring out how to get the most value from them.
While Ryan’s experience is broad, he has gone particularly deep in security technologies and, more recently, artificial intelligence.
There’s also a unique connection that makes Ryan’s move to C3 especially exciting: before joining the team, he spent the last seven years as a C3 customer. He already knows C3 from the client side and now brings that perspective, along with years of hands-on IT leadership, to our internal team.
When Ryan isn’t working, life stays pretty busy. He and his wife live in West Michigan with their three kids.
The family spends plenty of time outdoors. Ryan enjoys hiking and biking, and he has visited 14 national parks, including hiking Angels Landing in Zion National Park and Mount Bierstadt in Colorado. At home, you’ll often find him working around their wooded property, clearing fallen trees, cutting firewood, or building trails.
He also takes his interest in technology home with him. Ryan has built an extensive smart-home setup using Home Assistant and AI. One current project involves teaching the system to recognize deer and squirrels and respond with outdoor speakers or sprinklers in an attempt to prevent them from eating the plants.
Considering the family even has a friendly neighborhood doe named Becky, we’re interested to see how that particular technology rollout goes.
We’re excited to have Ryan’s experience, curiosity, and practical approach to technology on the C3 team.
Welcome to C3, Ryan!
