What C3 Events Are Really About

Written by C3 Editorial Team | Mar 5, 2026 7:54:20 PM

Technology professionals don’t need another vendor pitch. They need trusted relationships, and that’s why we host events the way we do.

We host events for one reason: to deepen relationships.
There is no lead generation goal attached to C3 Events and no quota we’re trying to hit off the back of a golf retreat or fishing excursion. We put these events on because we genuinely believe the strongest relationships in business are built in person, through shared experiences, not over a 30-minute discovery call.

The leaders we invite are senior decision-makers. Their calendars are full. Their inboxes are fuller. They’ve sat through enough vendor pitches to know one the second it starts. They know C3 events are not a pitch and never will be.

The Right People in the Room

We didn’t set out trying to make our events exclusive. The invite-only model became the standard because of the kind of community we’re building. When you care about the quality of the conversations in the room, you also have to care who is in the room. When everyone belongs, something shifts. Guards come down. People talk about real challenges. They ask honest questions. They connect without wondering what the catch is. That kind of environment doesn’t happen by accident.

No Pitches. No Pressure.
There’s no formal rule. No pre-event briefing reminding people not to pitch. It just doesn’t happen. The environment doesn’t create that pressure. When you’re on a golf course, out on the water, or around a dinner table in real conversation, the last thing anyone wants to do is turn it into a sales moment. And here’s the honest truth: business follows anyway.  Not because someone “worked the room.” Not because a slide deck was shown. But because trust was built.

A conversation on the green turns into a phone call weeks later. A dinner introduction becomes a long-term partnership. That’s what happens when relationships come first.

What AI Can’t Replace in Business
What AI can't replace in business is genuine human connection, the trust built over shared experiences, and the moments that no algorithm can manufacture. Our CEO & Founder, Matthew Toth, talks about this often. As AI continues to reshape how we work and operate, the one thing it can’t replicate is a real human moment.

The laugh at the casino.
The view at a golf retreat that makes the entire group go quiet for a second.
The late-night conversation over a fire nobody planned on having.

AI can write the email, it can’t build the relationship. That’s what we’re here for.

When We Open the Invitation

Although most of our events are invite-only, sometimes they look a little different. Sometimes it looks like Detroit Brew & Chew, a relaxed after-work gathering on the east side of Michigan where technology leaders step away from the office, grab a drink, share a meal, and connect with peers. Other times it looks like our largest event of the year, the C3 Tech Summit, where hundreds of technology and business leaders come together for a day of keynotes, conversations, vendor collaboration, and learning. The scale is different, but the goal is the same: bringing the right people together to exchange ideas, challenge perspectives, and build relationships that last well beyond the event.

Let’s See If It’s the Right Fit

C3 Events aren’t open registrations. But if you’re curious about what’s coming up and want to explore whether you’re the right fit, reach out to one of our advisors. We’ll have a conversation and take it from there.
